The emperor gives his daughter in marriage. Blessing follows. Supreme good fortune. Power marries down gracefully—this brings happiness to all.

Commentary

The sovereign gives his daughter in marriage—supreme good fortune. Power gracefully marries down. Though higher in rank, she obeys as all wives do. A truly modest union of high and low.
